Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Parliament, issued a message on the occasion of Ali Khamenei’s funeral procession, emphasizing the necessity of “revenge” against those responsible for his death and stating, “The killers of the martyred leader of the Ummah will face retribution for their actions.”

Referring to Khamenei’s funeral ceremonies, Ghalibaf claimed that over the past months, the Iranian people have chanted slogans against the United States and Israel, demanding revenge against the “killers” of the former leader of the Islamic Republic.

He also wrote that “the fulfillment of the divine promise is certain” and that “the aggressors against the soil of Islamic Iran and the killers of the martyrs of this land, especially the leader of the Ummah, will pay for their actions.” Ghalibaf further claimed that “the final step of revenge against the arrogant powers will materialize with the liberation of Holy Quds (Jerusalem).”

Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, also wrote in a message on X, formerly Twitter, that the demand to “punish the killer terrorists,” which he stated was raised during the funeral procession, is a “legitimate demand” and consistent with the principles of self-defense under international law.
