A facility belonging to Gazprom came under attack in the Russian city of Belgorod on Tuesday, with a fire breaking out at the Belgorod Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines.
According to Ukrinform, Telegram channel Astra stated this in a post.
During the night of July 7, residents of Belgorod and the surrounding region reported numerous explosions. Acting Governor of the Belgorod Region Oleksandr Shuvaiev said the region had come under a missile attack, resulting in damage to "a facility in Belgorod" and to energy infrastructure.
According to Astra's analysis of eyewitness footage, one of the targeted facilities was the Belgorod Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines (Belgorod LPDMG). A fire broke out at the site.
According to publicly available information, the Belgorod LPDMG is a branch of Gazprom Transgaz Moscow LLC, which is part of PJSC Gazprom. The unit is responsible for operating the region's main gas pipeline infrastructure and ensuring reliable gas transportation to consumers in the Belgorod Region.
