United States President, Donald Trump, has defended United States footballer, Folarin Balogun over the red card that initially ruled him out of his country's FIFA World Cup clash against Belgium, insisting the striker "didn't do anything wrong" and confirming that he personally asked FIFA to review the decision.

Trump made the remarks while explaining his involvement in the process that ultimately led to FIFA reviewing the automatic one-match suspension imposed on Balogun following his dismissal in the previous round.
