As the new general secretary, Krishna Mohan is focused on combating donation theft and enhancing accountabilityAYODHYA: Newly appointed interim general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Krishna Mohan, on Monday said his priorities would be to ensure accountability in the ongoing controversy over donation theft, restore public confidence, strengthen the Trust’s administrative system and bring greater transparency to its functioning.After assuming the responsibility, Krishna Mohan acknowledged that the recent developments had caused pain to devotees and affected the Trust’s image.He said those found guilty should face appropriate legal consequences and assured that the Trust would firmly pursue accountability.“My top priority will be to ensure that those found guilty get the punishment they deserve through a fair and lawful process. We will strongly insist that justice is served,” he said.“The incident has caused distress to everyone, especially to Ram’s devotees. The Trust is equally concerned about the impact of the controversy,” he said.Krishna Mohan also admitted that there were shortcomings in the Trust’s management and operational systems, which were exploited.“Some deficiencies were there in management and administration of the Trust, and some people exploited it. I will identify the mistakes and loopholes and plug them,” he said.“The atmosphere that has been created has tarnished the Trust’s image. A feeling of mistrust has arisen in the minds of people. Together with all the trustees, we will do whatever is required to remove this stain and restore the confidence of society,” Krishna Mohan said.Addressing concerns over donations made by devotees at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, he assured that every contribution would be used strictly in accordance with the Trust’s stated aims and objectives.He stressed that financial and administrative decisions would be implemented in a transparent manner.He, however, clarified that not every procedural step could be disclosed while decisions were still under process. “Complete information will be shared publicly once the process concludes,” he added.He expressed confidence that greater openness and improved governance would help rebuild the credibility of the Trust.Seeking cooperation from all stakeholders, Krishna Mohan appealed to trustees, devotees and the public to support the Trust’s efforts to restore confidence.He appealed to the media to report only verified information. “If there are any questions regarding the Trust, please approach the authorized representatives. You will receive accurate information from them,” he said.
