Police have now provided an update on the devastating incident which saw four people injured and a child airlifted to hospital - an investigation is underway from the force06:09, 07 Jul 2026A young child suffered ‘life-threatening injuries’ in a horror crash which hurt another two people, police have confirmed.‌Emergency services were called to a major junction in Glenagle, a town 41 miles (66km) south of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, on Monday (July 6). Police investigators believe two cars collided at 2:14pm local time at the junction of Mount Lindesay Highway and Gould Hill Road.‌Four people were involved in the incident. A child ‘sustained life-threatening injuries’ and was subsequently ‘airlifted to hospital’, while a 56-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl were also transported to hospital, Queensland Police said.‌Both of their conditions were described as ‘non-life-threatening injuries’ by cops who released an update on Tuesday (July 7). The fourth person involved in the crash, a 52-year-old man, ‘did not sustain any physical injuries’.The seriously-injured child was of ‘primary school age’ according to the Daily Mail,, which also reported the woman in her fifties was taken to PA Hospital in Brisbane, while the 13-year-old was transported to Logan Hospital, between Brisbane and Gold Coast. Reportedly, the teen is in a stable condition.Investigators are now probing how the devastating incident occurred. They currently believe a Subaru Impreza travelling southbound collided with Nissan Qashqai, which was driven by the 56-year-old woman from Gleneagle and contained the child airlifted to hospital. The Subaru driver, the 52-year-old man, was from nearby Beaudesert.‌A spokesperson for Queensland Police said: "The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating following a serious traffic crash at Gleneagle yesterday afternoon, July 6."Initial investigations indicate at 2.14pm, a Subaru Impreza sedan travelling southbound collided with Nissan Qashqai station wagon at the intersection of Mount Lindesay Highway and Gould Hill Road.‌"A child, who was a passenger in the Nissan, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
