After Completion of 12-year Tenure, Elumelu Retires as UBA Chairman, Nnorom Named Successor

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), yesterday announced that its Group Chairman, Mr. Tony Elumelu will retire from the Board of Directors of the Pan African financial institution on August 21, 2026, upon the completion of the 12-year tenure limit prescribed for Non-Executive Directors of Banks by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In a statement yesterday that was signed by the Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, UBA, Alero Ladipo, the bank announced the election of Mr. Emmanuel N. Nnorom, a Non-Executive Director as his successor, with effect from 21 August 2026.
According to the statement, the decision was reached at a meeting held yesterday.
