The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, on Sunday, unveiled the construction of a 3.5-megawatt solar power project in Ambursa, describing the initiative as a major step towards improving electricity supply and driving economic development in the state.

The groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of Lot 7 – Design, Supply and Installation of a 33kV Power Infrastructure Project, being implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency in partnership with Kelm Elicon Joint Venture.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the Rural Electrification Agency to strengthen the state’s electricity infrastructure and ensure reliable power supply for residents.

“Our administration remains committed to partnering with the Rural Electrification Agency to enhance effective and efficient service delivery in the power sector,” the governor said.
