Julia Garner‘s next TV project will be at Apple TV.

The three-time Emmy winner will star in and executive produce Guilty Creatures, a true-crime thriller. The tech giant’s streaming service has given a series order to the project, which is based on Mikita Brottman’s book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida.

Craig Gillespie (Supergirl, Apple’s Your Friends & Neighbors) is set to direct the series. Stuart Zicherman (American Sports Story, The Americans) will serve as showrunner, and Sarah DeLappe (Bodies Bodies Bodies) is adapting the book. Tomorrow Studios is producing.

Guilty Creatures will “delve into the psyche of a torrid romance and subsequent act of murder between two young, adulterous but God-fearing lovers, unraveling their complex lives and the emotional toll of living as killers for 18 years.” Brottman’s book unravels the December 2000 disappearance of Mike Williams. No body was ever found, but five years later, Mike’s long-time friend Brian Winchester divorced his wife, Kathy, and married Mike’s wife, Denise. The truth of what happened to Mike finally came to light 12 years after that.
