ROME: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Albudaiwi and Antonio Tajani, Italy’s deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, signed a memorandum of understanding in Rome on Monday to expand cooperation in political dialogue, knowledge exchange and other areas of mutual interest.

“The relations between the GCC member states and the Republic of Italy are witnessing continuous development across various fields, driven by their close ties and mutual interests,” Albudaiwi said in a statement shared by the General Secretariat.

He said the MoU would strengthen coordination between the GCC and Italy by broadening partnerships across several sectors of shared interest and enhancing joint mechanisms for cooperation.

Both sides expressed hope that the agreement would open new avenues for cooperation and further strengthen communication and coordination in support of their common goals.
