FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike
President Bola Tinubu on Monday defended his administration’s decision to remove the Federal Capital Territory Administration from the Treasury Single Account, saying the move had given the FCT the financial flexibility to fast-track infrastructure projects and drive Abuja’s transformation.
The President also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for translating the policy into visible projects, while dismissing claims that the Executive was interfering in the judiciary through investments in legal infrastructure.
Tinubu made the remarks while commissioning the new Office Annex of the Body of Benchers and 10 units of four-bedroom staff quarters at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja.
He was represented at the events by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, according to a statement signed on Monday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yomi Odunuga.
