Four crew members of a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter were killed on June 30, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission to intercept Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Ukrinform, the Brody City Council reported this on Facebook.
Those who fought their final battle were: the crew commander, Captain Yurii Voron; the pilot-navigator, Major Valentin Mukshinov; the flight engineer, Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Khmil; and the gunner, Junior Sergeant Mykhailo Deriaha.
“They fulfilled their military duty to the very end, defending the Ukrainian skies, providing cover for our infantry, supporting combat units, and saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers,” the Brody City Council emphasized.
On July 7, the Brody community will bid farewell to the fallen defenders.
