The Nasarawa State Government says it has issued no fewer than 8,000 Certificates of Occupancy in the last seven years to reduce land ownership disputes and increase the value of property across the state.

The Commissioner for Lands and Survey, David Moyi, disclosed this on Monday in Lafia during the bi-monthly ministerial press briefing organised by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

PUNCH Online reports that the briefing, held at the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, was attended by journalists from various media organisations.

According to Moyi, since Governor Abdullahi Sule assumed office in 2019, he has prioritised the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy to individuals and businesses across the state’s 13 local government areas to accelerate development.

The commissioner said the initiative was also aimed at addressing cases of land grabbing reported in parts of the state.
