The extremist group Hamas announced today, Monday, July 6, that it is dissolving its administration in the Gaza Strip to pave the way for transferring control of the region to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which is composed of Palestinian technocrat factions.
Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union, and it was responsible for the bloody and deadly attack on October 7, 2023. Those attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 695 Israeli civilians, including 38 children and 71 foreign nationals.
The killed leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, had called Hamas’s terrorist forces “warriors and fighters of Islam” and stated that he kissed their hands.
Agence France-Presse (AFP), quoting Ismail al-Thawabta, the head of Hamas’s government media office, reported that Mohammad al-Farra, the head of the government’s emergency committee, has submitted his resignation, and the committee has been dissolved to facilitate the transition of affairs to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza. According to him, technical and administrative staff will continue their activities until the new body is established to ensure that public services are not interrupted.
