The Hamas government in the Gaza Strip has announced the resignation of the so-called "Emergency Committee", the administration led by the movement that governs the Palestinian enclave, stating that it has completed all administrative procedures necessary for the transfer of responsibilities to the National Technocratic Committee for the administration of Gaza. The Times of Israel reports this.

Hamas stated in a note that "all public employees will continue to ensure services to the population" and declare themselves "ready to operate under the responsibility of the new body". The decision has a primarily symbolic value and appears aimed at demonstrating the movement's willingness to cede administrative management of the Strip to the national committee, in line with the 20-point plan for Gaza promoted by US President Donald Trump.
