The Aspen Acres Fire continues to rage in Colorado, having burned over 91,500 acres and destroyed at least 212 structures as of the most recent update from fire officials.The wildfire began on June 29 near the Aspen Acres campground in Custer County and has grown into the seventh largest in Colorado's history, according to The Pueblo Chieftain, part of the USA TODAY network.As of 8 p.m. local time on Sunday, July 5, the fire was 14% contained, fire officials said on Facebook, adding that a thunder cell passage created "strong outflow winds" that pushed the fire northwest towards the communities of Wetmore and Greenwood.Those gusty winds caused a small loss of containment overnight from Sunday to Monday – the fire dropped from 14% contained to 12% contained, according to the latest numbers released Monday morning.The Pueblo Chieftain reports several areas in Fremont County are now under mandatory evacuation orders due to the wildfires. Thousands of other residents have also had to evacuate, including the entire towns of Beulah, Rye, Wetmore, San Isabel and Colorado City.No civilian injuries or deaths have been reported.Aspen Acres Fire mapAspen Acres Fire not the only wildfire raging in ColoradoAlthough the Aspen Acres Fire is the largest wildfire currently burning in Colorado, it is not the only one.As of Sunday afternoon, July 5, at least four others were burning across the state, including in Dolores, Mesa and Lake counties.According to the U.S. Forest Service, the Ferris Fire in Dolores County had burned nearly 48,000 acres and was 21% contained as of Monday morning. Dolores County officials have issued evacuation orders in the area.The Gold Mountain Fire in Ouray County had also burned over 27,000 acres and was 3% contained as of Monday morning, according to the forest service, with mandatory evacuations issued for some homes in the area.Additionally, the Snyder Fire in Mesa County was 95% contained as of Monday morning, the U.S. Forest Service said.
