Even with a weekend series sweep of the Los Angeles Angels, the Boston Red Sox left the West Coast with more worries and another injured player.Starter Ranger Suarez, who’d been named to the American League All-Star team Saturday, exited Sunday’s 7-5 win in the third inning with tightness in his left adductor, a series of muscles in the inner thigh that help control the hip.Suarez, who hadn’t been sharp through the early part of the game, allowing three runs in 2 2/3 innings, leapt off the mound to field a bouncing ball up the middle. As he did, he appeared to land in discomfort. A team trainer visited, and Suarez soon exited the game.Interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters after the game the team won’t know more until Monday’s off day, and that he didn’t have a feel one way or the other for whether Suarez would require an injury list stint.Suarez missed 10 days earlier in the season with hamstring tightness but never went on the injury list.He had been scheduled for one more start before the break, but now that, and his All-Star appearance, remain in question, depending on the severity of Sunday’s injury. For the Red Sox, it marks the second starter within the past week they have lost to injury. Connelly Early exited his start Tuesday with left elbow inflammation and is seeking a second opinion.
