Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has clarified the injury situation in the camp, and the good news is that any of his walking wounded should be ready for the Greatest Rivalry series against the All Blacks in August and September.
Eben Etzebeth, who suffered a head knock last week in training ahead of the England visit, is among a group of key Boks on course to play the New Zealanders.
"Eben needs some proper time off because of concussion, and he has a history of concussion, so I don't think Eben will play in these incoming matches (the Nations Championship games against Scotland and Wales)," Erasmus said.
Etzebeth's ongoing concussion issues are a worry — at the Sharks he missed large chunks of the United Rugby Championship season. Etzebeth last played a full game in November, the Test match against Wales in which he was red-carded for eye-gouging and suspended for 12 weeks.
