It seeks to convince the world that violence can replace law, that fear is stronger than solidarity, and that brutality comes without consequence,” the mission said.The mission urged the presidency of the Security Council and its members to support Kyiv’s request for an emergency meeting.“Delayed or weak responses cannot stop the terror. Only strong, principled, and timely action will,” the statement said.It added that the international community must remain united to deter Russia and work toward “a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace” based on the UN Charter.Second major attack in daysAccording to the Ukrainian mission, Russia’s latest overnight strike killed at least 17 people, with the death toll expected to rise as rescue operations continue.Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged NATO leaders to respond decisively to Russia’s overnight large-scale strike on Ukraine ahead of this week’s summit in Ankara, warning that Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue targeting civilians unless Ukraine receives stronger air defense support.
