Craig Foreman and Lindsay Foreman, a British couple arbitrarily detained in Tehran’s Evin Prison, are continuing their hunger strike to protest the Islamic Republic’s absolute refusal to address their legal demands. Reports from inside the facility indicate a critical deterioration in their physical health, compounded by systemic denial of medical treatment and total isolation from their families.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), both British nationals remain entirely cut off from routine medical evaluations, including basic checkups by prison doctors or nursing staff. Lindsay Foreman, whose weakened state makes movement dangerous, is reportedly forced to navigate a lengthy corridor and roughly 30 stairs just to request entry to the infirmary. She has not received any formal medical evaluation in over 10 days.

HRANA reports that Lindsay Foreman is currently suffering from severe vertigo, physical tremors, profound bodily weakness, and precipitous weight loss exceeding 14 kilograms, approximately 31 lbs. Her husband, Craig Foreman, has lost approximately 16 kilograms, approximately 35 lbs, since the onset of the hunger strike.

An informed source told HRANA that while the couple was recently permitted a brief phone call with their defense counsel, they remain strictly barred from contacting their family members, their children, or even each other across the prison’s gender-segregated wards.
