Netflix fans can't get enough of the 'wholesome' footage11:19, 06 Jul 2026Fans of the Netflix film series can't get enough of the footage.‌Viewers in the latest film in the streamer's adaptation series of a beloved detective series are full of praise over its 'perfect' casting. Even more so after the company shared early footage from behind the scenes.‌Just days after its release, Enola Holmes 3 has become the number one film on the platform. At the time of writing it is the most watched title amongst UK subscribers, though it is not without its criticism.‌It is the third instalment in the franchise and according to its synopsis, sees detective Enola Holmes travel to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown returns to reprise her role of the titular hero Enola Holmes. As does House of Guinness actor Louis Partridge, playing love interest Tewkesbury, with former Superman and Witcher Geralt Henry Cavill once again playing Enola's brother and world famous detective Sherlock Holmes.‌However, it is the performances of the two leads that has caught most attention. Partridge's Tewkesbury has been a part of the series since the beginning in 2020 alongside Millie's Enola. Now, Netflix has shared audition footage of their first chemistry read together. For those who may not know, a chemistry read is a late stage in the audition process. One actor involved may have already been cast in their role at this stage. It is used to see if the performers involved have a good rapport that will translate onto the screen. The clip sees a nervous and fresh faced Partridge perform some scenes alongside Brown. Fans can't get enough of the footage as they say it shows early on that they were meant for the roles.‌Speaking of the process, Partridge admitted: “I remember being intimidated, but [director] Harry Bradbeer was just being lovely, and Millie was really friendly,” he says. “It was a bit of a whirlwind, to be honest. I remember exactly where it was, and I remember going with my mom to the audition.“It was the first audition where I really thought, ‘I can actually have fun while I’m doing this.' It wasn’t a case of, ‘I’m just going to read the lines and say them to my mom,’ who I did all my self-tapes with.”‌However, it seems that Louis should not have been too worried as his co-star was convinced as soon as he arrived. Speaking to Tudum, Millie explained she felt he was right 'in her heart' straight away.Content cannot be displayed without consentShe explained: "I do remember when Louis walked in, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s Tewkesbury. That’s him'. He sat down, and he was very nervous, red cheeks, he’d just come from French class, he was still in his school uniform."‌The Stranger Things star is not the only one as fans were quick to react to the audition footage. One said: "That chemistry was electric from day one Enola & Tewkesbury forever!"Another added: "Looking back at this knowing how incredible the movies turned out is so comforting.
