Critics dealt a winning hand of mocking jokes after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick shared an image of a so-called “Trump Card” on X on Sunday.Lutnick posted a photo of what appeared to be a card that is issued to wealthy foreign nationals under the administration’s fast-track permanent residency program, for a hefty fee of course.“Trump Card,” he wrote. Some users ribbed its appearance, comparing it to a cheaply laminated library card. Others used the post to revive criticism of Trump and Lutnick over their ties to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. And more suggested Lutnick was referring to the “Trump Card” the president controversially played to persuade FIFA to overturn U.S. men’s national team forward Folarin Balogun’s World Cup red-card suspension. It's a laminated paper card?Even my Apple Credit Card is metal!I'm going to start counterfeiting Trump Cards right now!I'll sell mine for WAY less than five million!DM me for prices!— TrumpSaidSo (@Richerd1378272) July 6, 2026You’re literally a card-carrying dipshit trumpanzee.— Matt Díaz (@Giant_Cyclone) July 6, 2026Looks like something I would've made in high school with some construction paper and a laminating machine. LOL!— Jeff Siegel (@jeffsiegel) July 6, 2026Lower prices? Nope.Affordable health care? Nope. The Trump administration is busy selling $5 million “Gold Cards” to Russian, Chinese, and Saudi oligarchs. That’s apparently the priority. https://t.co/TXt3D7lECc— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) July 6, 2026In the end, this won’t be the flex you think it is.— Sean Cullen (@clambake555) July 6, 2026
