However, the Palace has since said this would not be the case as the accommodation is no longer available.Buckingham Palace has 240 bedrooms, with 52 of these reserved for royals and their guests. To keep things running smoothly and safely, a number of staff and security are required to be present when a member of the Royal Family is staying in the Palace. According to a royal source, the London residence required a minimum level of notice so a guest may be hosted appropriately. In response to the accommodation offer being withdrawn, a spokesperson for Harry said: "Following RAVEC’s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements. Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend."It is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason.""Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday. It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment."On Tuesday, a result of Harry's legal case against the Daily Mail publishers will be announced, more than five months since Harry gave evidence in London's High Court. It is believed the Palace cited this so King Charles remained impartial to the judgment.During his trip to the UK, the prince will also travel to London for a visit to the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Prince Harry had reportedly planned to bring his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for their first family visit to Harry's home country in four years. When Harry's police protection was denied, the decision was made that they will not travel to London with the prince. However, it is yet unclear if Meghan and the children will join Harry later in the week for the Invictus event. It is believed Harry was left furious after the Home Office is believed to have decided the family will not receive police protection while in the UK.Prince Harry's team put a formal request into the police for taxpayer-funded security but were reportedly told on two weeks ago that this request was rejected.Harry has previously said the UK was "not safe" to bring his wife and kids but was understood to have changed his mind this time while accepting an offer to stay at a royal residence. In the past, the price has refused offers to stay in royal residence's during other UK trips. The Duke's access to police protection was removed in 2022 when the couple quit the family and moved to the US.
