'God transformed my prison into a palace': Sthembiso Pro Ndlovu shares his remarkable story of faith and forgiveness.
The Christmas of 2016 was meant to be a joyful reunion for Sthembiso Pro Ndlovu and his family. Instead, it marked the beginning of a chapter that would see the aspiring comedian and electrical engineer convicted of murder and sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment alongside his sister, Nokuthula.
Ndlovu has consistently maintained that they were wrongly convicted and that they were innocent of the crime. Although released on bail pending the outcome of their appeal in 2024, he says the years he spent behind bars transformed him in ways he never imagined.
Today, rather than allowing prison to define him, he has chosen to speak about faith, forgiveness and finding purpose in the darkest of places.
"Because I knew I was innocent, I believed the justice system would recognise the truth and that I would soon return home. Sadly, that did not happen," he told IOL.
