While many in the footballing fraternity have been surprised by Morocco’s run to the quarter-finals of the Fifa World Cup, that certainly isn’t the case if you’re African.
Simply put, Morocco are the pride of African football.
That they dispatched World Cup co-hosts Canada 3-0 will come as no shock to those who follow African football, or indeed anyone who has been watching the nation at this year’s tournament.
The stakes could hardly be higher for Morocco though, as they take on powerhouse France in their quarter-final at Boston Stadium on Thursday.
