The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) has warned the U.S. Soccer Federation that it will contest Folarin Balogun's eligibility should he be named in the matchday squad.

"To date, the RBFA has still not received any grounds for this decision, nor has it received the information it has been requesting since the start of this procedure", the RBFA said in a statement, calling the FIFA Appeal Committee's decision on lifting Balgoun's one-game suspension a "breach of FIFA regulations."

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Monday that he told US President Donald Trump that FIFA's disciplinary body was independent when the president rang him about reviewing US World Cup star Folarin Balogun's red card.

"I explained that there was an ongoing legal process involving FIFA's independent judicial bodies and that the case would be decided in due course by the competent bodies," FIFA chief Infantino said in a statement.

The u-turn over Balogun's one-game suspension allows him to play later Monday in the World Cup last 16 match with Belgium.
