The free hand that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. seemed to have in the early months of the Trump administration has given way to a series of setbacks for the Make America Healthy Again movement born of his 2024 alliance with the president.
The administration began reining in some of Kennedy’s portfolio late last year, and a steady stream of Kennedy’s allies across senior positions within HHS has exited the administration.
