Thomas Tuchel’s England delivered a statement victory as they beat Mexico 3-2 at Mexico City Stadium.
Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane was also on target to set up a quarter-final showdown against Norway.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing as Jarell Quansah was shown a straight red card at the start of the second-half following a VAR review.
And before the dismissal, there was a bust-up between members of both benches, with Alan Shearer claiming punches had been thrown.
The former forward said on BBC commentary: "It's all going off on the touchline, they're scrapping, they're punching, they're doing whatever because the Mexican bench, they think it was a terrible tackle from Quansah.” Shearer disagreed with Darren Cann after Mexico were awarded a controversial second-half penalty against England.
