April 17 (UPI) -- Millions of people around the globe are expected to watch Saturday as Prince Philip, the longest-serving consort of a British monarch, is memorialized in a ceremonial royal funeral in London.
The funeral is expected to begin around 9:30 a.m. EDT as the duke of Edinburgh's coffin is taken from the private chapel at Windsor Castle to St. George's Chapel.
Members of the royal family will follow after the coffin -- borne away in a Land Rover -- in a procession, including Princess Anne, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, Peter Phillips, Prince William, Vice Adm. Sir Tim Laurence and others.
Queen Elizabeth II, who was married to Prince Philip for more than 73 years, will not take part in the procession.
Once at St. George's, there will be a national minute of silence followed by a private funeral service led by the archbishop of Canterbury. The service will be limited to 30 people due to COVID-19 protocols, but will be televised.
