The owner of a private bus on the Manjaly-Aluva route has appealed for ₹1 contributions from bus operators, workers and passengers in protest against a ₹7,500 fine imposed by the Motor Vehicles department (MVD) for allegedly failing to operate a scheduled noon trip.The bus owner has shared a Google Pay QR code on social media, seeking ₹1 contributions towards the fine. He launched the challenge after the MVD booked him for a permit violation based on an online complaint.
