NewsUK NewsLancashireThe bodies of William Hutchinson, 31, and Stuart Tallis, 27, were discovered in a crashed car hidden in 'thick undergrowth' off the A584 in Lancashire more than a week after they had been reported missing15:16, 05 Jul 2026Updated 15:40, 05 Jul 2026The bodies of two men who had been missing for more than a week were discovered in a crashed car hidden in "thick undergrowth" off the A584 in Lancashire.‌William Hutchinson, 31, and Stuart Tallis, 27, were both last seen on June 24 and were separately reported missing from their homes in Preston, Lancashire Police said.‌On Saturday, specialist search officers found William’s blue Peugeot 106 off the westbound carriageway of the A584 Preston New Road, near the junction with the A583 Blackpool Road at Newton with Clifton. The vehicle was found in "thick undergrowth" and "hidden from view", the force said.‌"Sadly, two deceased males were found inside the vehicle. Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, we believe we have found William and Stuart," police said. Their families have been informed and are being support by specially trained officers.Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who saw the blue Peugeot 106 on the A584 Preston New Road shortly before 5.30am on June 24, when they believe the car left the road. Officers are also asking for any CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist the inquiry.Article continues belowSgt Martin Wilcock, from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: "Two men have lost their lives in what appears to be extremely tragic circumstances, and my thoughts are very much with their loved ones at this sad time.
