Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of systematically obstructing the State’s development agenda through misinformation, unwarranted political interference, and hate campaigns aimed at discouraging investment, while reiterating that the NDA coalition government was committed to both welfare schemes and economic development.During an interaction with the media here, Mr. Naidu alleged that the YSRCP leaders were trying to claim credit for various projects initiated by his government, though they failed to attract investments during 2019-24. He further charged the previous government with driving away industries, allotting disputed land to companies, blocking valuable mineral resources and creating prolonged legal complications, culminating in irreparable damage to industrial expansion.‘Malicious campaign'Mr. Naidu levelled serious allegations against the YSRCP, saying that individuals linked to the party were financing social media platforms to target both him and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan through sustained criticism and misinformation. “The previous government ruthlessly promoted a culture of violence, factional politics, and intimidation. At the same time, extensive ganja cultivation had flourished in agency areas under its administration. Those responsible for the Tirumala laddu adulteration controversy are now giving lectures on ethics and governance,” the Chief Minister said.Kuppam growth modelMr. Naidu said Kuppam was witnessing an unprecedented inflow of industrial investments supported by improved roads, communication networks, and overall connectivity. “The government intends to replicate the constituency’s development model across Andhra Pradesh through decentralised planning and region-specific growth strategies,” the Chief Minister maintained.“There is no doubt that we are aggressively pursuing investments in emerging sectors such as quantum computing and semiconductor manufacturing. The quantum computing centre at Amaravati is expected to commence operations by December. Our State is also expanding renewable energy generation through solar and wind power while strengthening modern power infrastructure,” Naidu stated.The Chief Minister said that corporate giants in steel manufacturing were competing to establish projects in the State. The government was simultaneously protecting the environment and resolving decades-old land disputes to facilitate investments.Referring to water management in the Kuppam region, Mr. Naidu said that water had reached the area through the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) canal. “The Galeru-Nagari irrigation project will also be completed at the earliest to strengthen water security in the drought-prone region,” the Chief Minister said.
