Sungrow has announced that its PowerTitan 3.0 ESS has received the prestigious smarter E award in the Energy Storage category during the recently concluded Intersolar Europe. The smarter E awards are known as the “Oscars of the energy industry”, with PowerTitan 3.0 standing out among products from a number of leading energy storage exhibitors worldwide and being the only Chinese brand to win an award in this year’s storage category.

Ahead of the Munich event, Sungrow secured the world’s first giga-scale 24/7 solar-storage project in Abu Dhabi, a 7.5 GWh order with Masdar, with the company forecasting delivery of 10 GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 across Europe during 2026.

The smarter E recognition underscores Sungrow’s innovation, with PowerTitan 3.0 designed to address the evolving needs of utility-scale energy storage, while delivering exceptional performance across efficiency, safety and deployment speed.

With a 99.3% power conversion efficiency and 92% round-trip efficiency, PowerTitan 3.0 minimizes energy loss in every cycle, with a 1 GWh project generating up to EUR 16 million in additional revenue over a 20-year project lifetime. Its stacked battery cell design reduces the risk of overheating and short circuits and, combined with self-monitoring, the system predicts thermal risks with a warning accuracy of over 99%, helping ensure reliable operation.
