On the night of July 5, a unit of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the “Hvardiyske” airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea as part of efforts to reduce the Russian aggressor’s offensive capabilities.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
The General Staff noted that the extent of the damage is being assessed.
The “Hvardiyske” airfield is one of the Russian Federation’s key military airfields on the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula.
It is used to base operational-tactical and naval aviation aircraft, support combat sorties, and provide logistics and maintenance for aviation equipment.
