The resident explained that the neighbours had asked for permission to trim a few branches from a tree hanging over into their garden, and they had happily agreed.‌However, things took a turn when the neighbours decided to cut down a completely different tree in their own garden. Sharing the ordeal on Reddit, the homeowner said: "The neighbours had already told us they were planning to cut some branches off a tree on our side of the fence that was hovering over their backyard, and we gave them the OK.‌"What we're not OK with is the fact that they chopped down a tree on their side, and it landed on our fence, completely destroying it."‌The fallen tree left the fence crushed and came dangerously close to hitting the house.The homeowner immediately contacted their landlord, who wasn't surprised by what had happened.They added: "Apparently it's not the first time he's had issues with these neighbours for the exact same reason.‌"Landlord said that in the past, they didn't take responsibility for fixing the fence and didn't do any clean-up."According to the resident, the neighbours made a brief attempt to remove the tree before giving up and leaving it where it fell.Now, the huge tree is still lying across the damaged fence while they wait for the landlord to arrange repairs.‌The homeowner said: "I'm assuming the landlord is going to hire a company to remove the tree, but for now, we have a massive tree stuck on our fence.
