The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Mumbai under a red alert for Sunday, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across the city and suburbs, with isolated areas likely to see extremely heavy showers. The weather department has said the rain activity is expected to continue over the next 24 hours, raising the risk of waterlogging and traffic congestion in low-lying parts of the city.In Delhi, the IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across the capital. Rain activity is expected to be fairly widespread, covering most parts of the city.
