Peter Andre has admitted "it's always scary" for parents to see their children striving for careers because there is always the worry of how to deal with the situation if it all goes awry07:47, 05 Jul 2026Updated 07:48, 05 Jul 2026Peter Andre has explained how it really feels to see his kids "pushing" for their own careers, saying: "You have to take the good with the bad." The singer, 53, has Junior, 21, and Princess, 19, with ex-wife Katie Price, and both of them have entered into the public eye in their own right in recent years.‌Whilst Junior has begun to make waves in the music industry, Princess is currently filming the second series of her ITV2 reality show The Princess Diaries, and after Peter noticed that Britney Spears' sons Sean, 20, and 19-year-old Jayden decided to take to the runway at Paris Fashion Week, he decided to speak out on what it feels like to see his own children "push" for success.‌Writing in his new! magazine column, he said: "Britney’s sons Sean and Jayden have made their debut in the spotlight in their own right - by walking the runway at Paris Fashion Week.‌"It is amazing when you’re a parent in the public eye and you see your kids do things - especially when they’re determined and they are the ones who push for it."But nothing is guaranteed unless they work hard to achieve it regardless of what industry they are in. It’s always scary for them because you want them to do well and not deal with the heartache if things don’t go quite to plan, but you always have to take the good with the bad."‌Meanwhile, Peter, who is now married to Emily MacDonagh and has Millie, 12, Theo, nine, as well as two-year-old Belle with her, shot to fame with the hit track Mysterious Girl and it stormed the charts upon its release in 1995.Peter had noticed that Grease star Stockard Channing, who famously played teenage tearaway Rizzo in the 1978 film adaptation of the Broadway classic, had admitted she had no idea what the role would lead to when she signed up to play the part, and compared it to his success with his now-signature track.‌He wrote: "Grease icon Stockard Channing, who played Rizzo in the film, gave a rare interview and it was so interesting to know that, at the time, it was all just a way for her to pay the mortgage and she of course had no idea the phenomenon it would become. She also said that she wanted to made to be look younger because of course she was in her thirties playing a teenager."On a much smaller scale, a similar thing happened to me with Mysterious Girl. I wrote the song with my friends and, at the time it seemed like the easiest song to do, but that ended up being a worldwide hit."It’s bizarre because even thirty years later people send me videos from around the world where it’s being played in clubs. You just never expect it.Article continues below"Imagine if Stockard didn’t take that role, or if I didn’t write Mysterious Girl. Life has a strange way of deciding what works out."Like this story?
