Pedgaon has earned a reputation as one of the most prominent and prestigious venues on the State’s bullock cart racing circuit, drawing competitors and enthusiasts year after year who vie for unmatched glory.The event began around 7 a.m., with competitors arriving well before sunrise to prepare their prized bullocks for the day’s competition. As the morning progressed, a massive crowd gathered around the maidaan (ground), while many spectators occupied a nearby hilltop that offered a panoramic view of the racing track.The competition unfolded over multiple rounds, testing the speed, endurance and precision. Because of its standing as a highly prestigious race, the stakes were incredibly high; only one grand winner could ultimately claim the coveted top prize of ₹1,21,000 and the legendary honour associated with Pedgaon. As he crossed the finish line to win the race, the entire maidaan erupted in celebration.
