Dancer and social media personality, popularly known as Janemena, became an internet sensation through her dance content. Her rise to fame began in 2017 after she won a dance competition organised by singer, Kcee, for one of his songs, earning a cash prize of N2m.
She married her husband, Andre Plies, in 2019. However, like many unions, their marriage has faced its share of challenges.
In 2021, actress Tonto Dikeh and her former boyfriend, Joseph Egbri, popularly known as Prince Kpokpogri, were involved in a messy public breakup marked by a series of accusations. One of the allegations made by Dikeh implicated Janemena, claiming she had been involved in an illicit sexual relationship with Kpokpogri and alleging that there was video evidence to support the claim.
Janemena denied the allegations, stating that the emotional trauma caused by the controversy led to the miscarriage of her one-month pregnancy. She subsequently demanded N500m in damages for alleged libel over claims circulated on social media that she had a sex tape. She also filed a petition through the Office of the Inspector-General of Police, requesting an investigation into the alleged criminal libel against Dikeh.
Although the controversy lingered for some time, Janemena briefly stayed away from social media before returning with a heartfelt post expressing gratitude to her husband and his family for standing by her.
