The Division Excellence Awards and Recognitions 2026 Gala, the flagship annual event of Division D, District 130, Toastmasters International, was held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the MUSON Centre, Lagos, bringing together leaders, professionals, guests and sponsors in a celebration of communication excellence, mentorship and service.
The event opened with a cultural performance by the University of Lagos Cultural Troupe, whose energetic display of Nigeria’s cultural heritage set the tone for the evening.
Guests were also treated to the Crucible Challenge, a competitive segment featuring Toastmasters members in a lively contest of wit, creativity and public speaking skill, which drew cheers and engagement from the audience.
The gala featured goodwill messages from dignitaries. The Lagos State Government was represented by the Director of Training and Strategy at the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Wale Akodu, while the Office of the First Lady of Lagos State was represented by Oyindamola Ogunsanwo of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials.
Their remarks underscored the importance of leadership development and effective communication in nation-building and societal progress.
