Canada head coach Jesse Marsch wanted no part of the camera following the team's 3-0 loss to Morocco on Saturday, July 4, during the World Cup round of 16.As Morocco celebrated on the field, Canada grappled with its tournament journey ending. Still, the team clapped in front of its fans, showing support for the people in the stands who flew down to Houston to watch them play.A cameraperson on the pitch was filming the team when Marsch shooed the cameraperson away as he gathered players to stand with him.Marsch's response after the defeat appeared to be different from the team's 1-0 victory over South Africa on June 28. The Canadian coach allowed the camera to be in the huddle as he spoke to his players following the win that pushed the team into the round of 16.Canada coach shoos camera after World Cup loss to MoroccoWhat Jesse Marsch said after Canada's loss to Morocco"Across the pitch, we have 11 incredible performances in the first half," Marsch said."We were unlucky not to get the lead. We should have been on top of the game. We should of had the lead, and then it's the fine details ... but in terms of how we played ... what an incredible performance."Marsch also added that he thought fans were privileged to have watched and rooted for this year's Canadian World Cup team. He also said that Canada has to be in situations like Saturday more to become better."What a great team, " Marsch added. "I'd rather be us than them. As good as Morocco is, I'd rather be us ... I'm really proud of our guys. We went after the game. They're hurting right now, but my goodness, I couldn't be prouder.USA TODAY at the 2026 World CupThe 2026 World Cup is the largest ever, and USA TODAY is going all in with reporters on the ground in all 16 host cities across three countries to cover 48 teams vying for the trophy.
