Greg James has finally revealed that he secretly flew out to New York for pal Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce, hours after kicking back in a Sheffield pub on Thursday19:10, 04 Jul 2026Updated 19:23, 04 Jul 2026Greg James secretly flew out to New York for Taylor Swift's wedding after a night out in Sheffield. Last year, Taylor confirmed on BBC Radio 1, during an interview with Greg, that he would be invited to her wedding. And it's not just Taylor who loves Greg James – her new husband, Travis Kelce, is also a fan of the broadcaster. And while speculation had been rife that Greg hadn't attended, he's now confirmed – he and his wife jetted out to New York City for the wedding of the century. On Thursday, Greg and his Radio 1 colleague, Alice Levine, had been in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, for the Crossed Wires Festival, with their Bad Chat podcast. The pair headed to the legendary Fagans pub on Broad Lane on Thursday night, before dining at the local favourite Béres, with Alice as the pair tucked into a classic sandwich consisting of ham, crackling and stuffing.Even Greg's Radio 1 colleagues were questioning whether he had made a Swift exit and jetted out to New York after failing to answer his phone. Taking to Instagram, sharing a snap of a huge slice of pizza, he said today: "I am currently experiencing the world's greatest hangover and unable to reply to the hilarious number of messages I have received over the last 24 hours."But just to say: True to her word, of course the invitation arrived, and of course I couldn't tell anyone. And oh my God, what an unbelievably brilliant night. I'm off for a nap."Greg attended the big day with his wife, Bella, who looked incredible in a red dress. Meanwhile, Greg looked dapper in an all-black suit as the pair posed for a picture together before heading to Madison Square Garden.Last year, Greg joked that he would love Travis to perform a wrestling move on him into a swimming pool. Taylor then replied: "The way that he's going to do that as soon as he sees you at our wedding. That's gonna happen."When Greg questioned whether he would be invited, Taylor replied: "Obviously." Greg and Taylor's friendship dates back over a decade, with the pair first bonding when he drove her around London in a "dodgy hatchback" during an interview.Taylor has even commented on their bond, saying the pair "get" one another's humour. But he kept quiet about his invite to the wedding – when asked earlier this year on This Morning whether he'd be joining Graham Norton, he said: "I wish that I could come to you today with news of an invitation, but I’ve said this on the radio and to my friends who have been like, 'Have you got the invitation yet?'"And I've said, not yet. Or maybe never! And I do think it will be great if I get to go with me and Graham [Norton], and also very funny if I don't get an invitation."During the ceremony, Taylor and Travis were married by their pal Adam Sandler. Taylor's long-term publicist, Tree Paine, said: "The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler." Other guests included Zoe Kravitz, Karlie Kloss, Jack Antonoff, Gigi Hadid, Graham Norton, Ed Sheeran, and Hugh Grant.Article continues belowTaylor's famous "girl squad", including Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham and the Haim sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana, were also in attendance.Like this story?
