Doctors at the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) treated a 74-year-old patient using advanced imaging guided intravascular ultrasound along with Intravascular Lithotripsy for the first time in the hospital. The hospital in a release said the patient had severe calcified plaque deposits in his coronary arteries with instant restenosis. Using the advanced minimally IVL technique, the calcified plaque was fractured and treated, enabling smooth stent deployment and restoring optimal blood flow.
