Three part series The Fall Skydive Murder Plot has left some viewers a little confused11:48, 04 Jul 2026Some viewers have been left scratching their heads over the chilling case.‌Several Netflix fans have been left saying the same thing just minutes after checking out the streamer's latest true crime addition. All episodes of The Fall: Skydive Murder Plot are now available on the platform.‌It originally aired on Channel 4 back in 2024 but has now found a new streaming home. As a result, more viewers are discovering the chilling real life case.‌According to its synopsis: "When a skydiver somehow survives the failure of both her parachutes, two dogged detectives uncover a story of affairs, debt, sex clubs, escorts and murderous intent."It tells the remarkable story of Victoria Cilliers who, despite sustaining life-threatening injuries after plummeting 4,000ft, somehow managed to survive. Both her parachutes, including the reserve, failed to deploy.‌As she recovered from her injuries sustained during what she thought was a horrific accident, a police investigation was underway. It became clear that the authorities suspected her husband of trying to end her life.However, it's quite an unconventional true crime series in its approach. While some of the most popular true crime shows are either dramas inspired by events, or a string of interviews involving the actual people involved, this one is a combination of both.It features conversations with those genuinely involved, including the detectives and Victoria Cilliers herself. But it also incorporates reconstructed scenes and dramatised sequences featuring actors playing Victoria and Emile.‌Not only that but there are also glimpses of behind-the-scenes footage showing how these moments were crafted by the performers and creative team. This has left some viewers distracted from what is already an interesting story.Posting on the Netflix subreddit recently, one person asked: "Is anyone watching this? I love a bit of true crime and watch a lot of documentaries but god this is so excruciatingly painful to get through.‌"Incredibly boring and they’ve gone for this documentary and acted drama mashup that really doesn’t work. I’m aware of the details of this case and this should be a one hour documentary max, not three 45 mins episodes. I’ve stopped 20 mins in."Someone else agreed: "A fascinating story, but it was a complete muddle the way they did it."They weren't the only ones as one person commented: "Very distracting...
