Cambodia, which was the fourth largest source of Vietnam's international tourists in the first quarter, dropped to sixth place over the first half. It sent 508,000 arrivals between January and June, up 41% year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office.
The U.S. with 529,000 arrivals returned to the top five.
Japan, Vietnam's fifth-largest source of international visitors last year, now fell to eighth place with 441,000 arrivals, up 12% from a year earlier.
