MANILA, Philippines — Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced on Saturday, July 4, the dismissal from service of former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca, who figured in an exchange of gunfire at the Senate in May.

The Ombudsman confirmed in an interview with dzRH radio that he had signed the dismissal order against Aplasca on Monday, June 29, without providing details on the decision.

“Acting Sergeant-at-Arms in the Senate and Sergeant-at-Arms of the Commission on Appointments, we have dismissed from service,” Remulla said.
