Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce married Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, capping months of preparations, rumors and heavy security around one of the most closely watched celebrity events of the year. The couple wed before about 1,000 guests. In a statement, representatives said Swift’s wedding dress and Kelce’s suit were designed by Christian Dior Haute Couture in close collaboration with the couple.Swift and Kelce chose not to have traditional wedding parties. Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honor, while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, stood beside him as best man.Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. The guest list included Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Brady, Nelly, Miranda Lambert, Karlie Kloss, Dua Lipa, Chris Rock, Dakota Johnson, Machine Gun Kelly, Camila Cabello, Benson Boone, Zoë Kravitz, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Suki Waterhouse and Jack Antonoff. Blake Lively, once one of Swift’s closest friends, was not seen.According to reports, Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters served as flower girls, scattering petals as Swift walked down the aisle. Swift reportedly chose one of her own songs for the procession, in a special arrangement.Nelly called the wedding “amazing” in an Instagram story. Television host George Stephanopoulos said Swift and Kelce’s vows were “everything you could hope for — real, moving, serious and funny.” He described Sandler’s remarks as “funny and touching,” adding, “Who knew a wedding at Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”After the couple exchanged vows, guests moved to the main floor for a lavish reception reportedly designed as a blend of “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Wizard of Oz.”The ceremony began at 5 p.m. At exactly 7:30 p.m., Madison Square Garden lit up with pink neon signs reading, “JUST&T MARRIED!” The celebration continued late into the night. The couple also donated $26 million to charities and nonprofit organizations in the days before the wedding.Security was intense. A source said entry required screening “almost at a military level.” Guests were required to sign nondisclosure agreements before receiving details of the event, a rule reportedly applied even to some close friends and relatives. The Daily Mail reported that the agreements did not include financial penalties. The couple also used a more sophisticated security measure: Each invitation reportedly carried a unique watermark bearing the invited guest’s name, making any leaked copy traceable almost immediately. The precautions help explain why so little information emerged from inside Madison Square Garden despite days of intense activity around the venue.
