The Union Home Ministry has designated 23 Pakistan-based operatives linked to terrorist organisations including Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as individual terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The individuals are accused of involvement in infiltration, recruitment, arms supply and planning terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Several of those named are close aides of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind multiple attacks on Indian soil.
