According to the police, items recovered during the operation included one PKT machine gun, 230 rounds of PKT ammunition, 1,663 rounds of 7.62mm × 39mm AK-47 ammunition, as well as the vehicle used to convey the exhibits.
The Nigeria Police Force has secured the conviction of two men prosecuted for terrorism-related offences after they were caught transporting a cache of prohibited firearms and ammunition allegedly meant for criminal elements in Katsina State.
The successful prosecution, which followed their arrest during a major arms trafficking operation in September 2025, culminated in the Federal High Court in Katsina sentencing both convicts to lengthy prison terms.
The convicts, Abdussalam Muhammad and Aminu Mamman, were intercepted by operatives of the Katsina State Police Command along the Ingawa–Karkarku Road in Katsina State while transporting what police described as prohibited firearms and ammunition intended for criminal elements.
