Ange Postecoglou has returned to management with Saudi Pro League champions Al Nassr, accepting a two-year contract that places him in charge of a star-studded squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Announcing the appointment on Friday, Al Nassr described the move as “a new chapter” and confirmed that Postecoglou had been appointed head coach of the first team for the next two seasons.

The appointment represents a remarkable turnaround for the 60-year-old Australian, whose reputation endured a turbulent period following his exits from Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.

Reuters reported that Postecoglou is attempting to “revive his career” after two difficult spells in the Premier League.

The news agency noted that his brief Nottingham Forest tenure ended after an eight-match winless run, while his Tottenham reign concluded shortly after delivering Europa League success.
