Two mothers - from Phoenix and Chatsworth - were reported for alleged sexual relations with their own children.
CHILD rights activists are sounding the alarm over a disturbing trend of mothers being implicated in child abuse cases, urging society to recognise the severity of this issue and take action to protect vulnerable children.
They have warned families to be aware of the “mushrooming of cases” where children are sexually abused or trafficked and sexually exploited by their biological mothers.
This comes after a recent case where two mothers - from Phoenix and Chatsworth - were reported for alleged sexual relations with their own children.
Prem Balram, head of Reaction Unit South Africa, said they were in possession of videos, images and messages shared between two mothers who were engaging in exploitative and criminal acts with their own minor children.
